never knew this bc like im very oblivious and never look back. but apparently i started a huge debate in my secondary school after i graduated because i was the first openly transgender student in there and always wore the male uniform instead of the female one, which was very much not allowed because of strict uniform rules. but my friends just informed me that because i did that they had a period of debate about uniform rules and now the students are free to choose which uniform they want regardless of gender. mad. never knew i had that effect

like being a young trans guy in school sucked. like our student counseller was a complete cunt about it especially and the second i graduated i never even looked in the general direction of that building again but like. man. like idk its making feel some kind of way that me being a headache for the school had a domino effect and now its going to be a bit easier for trans kids going there in the future

From my experience what these people actually want is confirmation that their experiences were normal and correct and that it's the world that has gone wrong. That's why confronting them with the fact that actually how they were treated was literally abuse makes them so upset, they don't want to acknowledge that they were (and often still are) victims of people and systems outside their control. They were raised with the mindset that to admit something hurt you was a weakness. They were raised to believe that suffering through hardship silently is a sign of good character and strength. They want to be praised for being so strong, not sympathised with for being so hurt, they just don't know what to do with that massive shift in perspective
